I can't in good conscience, feminist and otherwise, continue watching a show that is so blatant -- so over the top -- in its sexism and misogyny and makes no apologies for it. As a human being, I agree with Tyrion Lannister: "There's always been enough death in the world for my taste: I can do without it in my leisure time."
This week marks the 48th anniversary of the Six-Day War in Israel. It is the anniversary of the state of euphoria which existed in Israel after the defeat of so many of its neighbors. After all, some months before June, 1967, people were not sure if the State would survive and in fact mass graves were prepared, just in case.
Christian advocates of boycotts and divestment see Israel's bellicose policies as destructive not only to Palestinians but also to Israeli Jews. The involvement of churches in this growing international movement indicates that concern for a just and lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis is finally making inroads into mainstream American society.
