It's important to have many mentors, not just one. Mentors can be as diverse as the characteristics you want to cultivate. Analytical Skills? Empathy? Decisiveness? Find a mentor for each!
None of the 30-somethings and younger I work with are even interested in being mentored. I'm sure there are exceptions out there, but I am disappointed and dismayed to see an invaluable resource for both individuals and businesses fading in importance.
The common denominator among SCORE volunteers is that they will be passionate about creating new jobs and helping their clients launch new businesses successfully.
