Lousy. Pathetic. Boring. Typical. These are adjectives that can be used to describe the Detroit Lions in recent years. Balanced. Efficient. Defensive-minded. Composed. These are adjectives that can be used to describe this year's 5-2 Lions squad.
Russell Wilson may not match his 100+ yard rushing output from Monday night in Washington, but expect another great game in a relative shootout versus a Cowboys' defense that is allowing a league-worst 6.5 yards-per-play.
DeMarco Murray leads the NFL in rushing yards through two games and is projected to top 1,750 yards rushing if he makes 16 starts this year. For perspective, no other player is projected to exceed 1,500 yards rushing.
I'm going to celebrate on the best day of a Lions fan's year -- NFL Draft Day. But to be fair, I'm not going to analyze their ineptitude identifying talent since the Eisenhower years -- again, that would be cruel. I'm just going to start when I began following this incredibly consistent team.
"Venues speak to the people that frequent them. The Crystal was built for counterculture. It was on the third floor of the building so the dancers in the '20s had time to 'separate' before the cops could get there. When dancing was illegal they did it at the Crystal."
