As the seemingly endless GOP nomination fight grinds on, it's becoming clearer who President Obama's most formidable opponent is likely to be: himself.

Obama's speech signaled that he's over his obsession with chasing the nonexistent pipe dream of bipartisanship from Republicans. He defined what his party stands for and why their values are superior to Republicans'.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has been slapped around silly by commentator after commentator, decrying his anti-Lefty rage. But as I read the battle, it seems to miss a pretty fundamental point.

Arianna has written much that I agree with. But when it comes to her suggestion that there is some great difference between President Obama and Candidate Obama, I have to register the strongest possible dissent.
