I am currently writing a post called "Welcome to Chicago-A Beginners Guide To Driving In Chicago," that gives newcomers to our city the lowdown. My original title was "Violated! What To Do To Keep Chicago From Sticking It In Your A**."
As much as I think it's OK to get pissed and outraged at parking tickets, booting, the crappy system surrounding both, and Mayor Daley, it can never be acceptable to lash out at city workers in any way--verbally, physically, or ballistically.
Another crap ticket courtesy of the city of Chicago. If a cop wrote this ticket, they were being lazy and should have looked up where your plates were registered. Instead they took the easy way out and wrote the ticket.
The solution to Daley's budget deficit is not to make up the shortfall on the backs of motorists. Instead, he needs to do what every other person in these troubled economic times is doing and that's tighten the city's belt and cut expenses.
The reason this violation sucks so much is there is no objective way to measure tint. Do the cops carry a tint meter around with them to check to see if the glass is tinted or not? I'm sure they don't.
Ticketmaster is a Parking Enforcement Aide (PEA) for the city of Chicago Dept. of Revenue. Ticketmaster very graciously answers questions to give our readers insight and information to hopefully avoid tickets altogether.
The key advice to everyone is this: Make sure you never have more than two unpaid tickets in Final Determination. Once you get that that third ticket, pay it right away so you don't go into Seizure Status and have to pay all your tickets.
