Yesterday, Gov. Brown released his budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year. We believe that our State budget is a statement of what we value and it is our job to ensure these values are preserved and enhanced.
Subsidized child care has few advocates in the tangled world of New York City politics. Cut senior citizen centers or libraries or - God forbid - a firehouse, and the City Council will hear shrieks from their district. Child care, not so much.
