In Provence, I chose the Luberon for its beauty, and for the most part, stayed in the villages to paint. The Chambres d'hotes were the most memorable and staying in the old farmhouses also provided painting material.
All the Obamas signed the card, even their little dog Bo. In fact, Bo is the star of the card. There he is right on the front -- take a look -- romping through the snow on the Obamas' lawn. What could be more traditionally American than that?
Through watching my mom, I grew to understood that the purpose of sending holiday cards was to send wishes that were heartfelt and meaningful; a personal "I'm thinking of you." When I became old enough to start writing my own holiday cards, I followed in my mother's footsteps.
