"Why did you want to go into space?" was the first question that I asked of Guy Laliberté. I was intrigued by a man who would spend 11 days in a space station 220 miles above the earth... and return with 10,000 photographs.
With a musical score by Calexico, Circo is much less about fancy costumes and death-defying acrobatics than it is about dealing with the mud, grime, and family tensions of shlepping a small circus around Mexico.
"My charity, "Big Dreams For Kids", was inspired by when I was a little boy. I grew up in an environment where there was a lot of drug dealing and killing, but we still had the positive role models come down and tell us to dream big."
