Why are we so afraid to let our kids play outside, when we know that such activity is vital for their physical and mental health? Our fears are so extreme that in a few cases, parents have been arrested for allowing their children to play outside unattended. My mother would have been sent to jail on an almost daily basis.
Let's say it's a warm summer day and you're sitting at an outdoor café sipping a Prosecco and watching the people parade. A 55-year-old guy who looks his age (in spite of the dyed hair and sucked-in paunch) strolls by with his arm around a sexy, scantily clad woman who looks to be about 30, perhaps younger.
Why does it seem that the best stories come from my friends who are either 1) newly-single and doing the "Divorced Girls Gone Wild" thing, or 2) well past their post-divorce dating and annoyingly happy with their new boyfriend? Thank God for my good friend who falls somewhere in between, and who, after one Lemondrop Martini, will share stories that, if publicized, would get her kicked out of the Cougar club.
