Detroit has more fires than any other city in America. Los Angeles averages 11 structure fires per day. Detroit, with 80 percent fewer people, averages 30. That's a crisis of epic proportions. If it was happening anywhere else, it would be national news. But not if it's in Detroit.
If it has not occurred to the people of Detroit yet, on the heels of 32 murders in 15 days, the bell should be ringing loud and clear soon enough that we are nothing more than collateral damage to Governor Snyder, Mayor Bing and his financial advisory board.
