Art is doable was wisdom handed down by an acting teacher when I was 16 years old. I traveled from the South Bronx on Saturday mornings to study acting in the Teen Program at the Stella Adler Studio. This wisdom still impacts my art.
Whether at risk for losing peace and quiet or artsy culture, neighborhoods and their residents embody a local flare to which they may not want to say goodbye. The question remains if the new culture will trump the past.
Murray's new body of work, entitled Dystopia, marks the artist's darkest most soul-bearing work to date. It's as though this newfound inner peace and strength enabled a large memory store of emotion to be unleashed.
