We have a national crisis in education. Things must change and change quickly. I join Senator Harkin and my colleagues in the House in demanding better performance from the for-profit college industry that serves millions of students across this nation.
When Dr. King was assassinated, it was 1968. President Obama was 7 and EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson was 6. Many of the African-American leaders who now carry the torch of justice that King lit were young when he died.
I doubt that any members of the Congressional Black Caucus got any sleep last night. I'm sure they were tossing and turning, sick with worry and regret, trembling in fear over Allen West's threat to leave the caucus.
