Emerging Church

There is still a significant interest in, and pursuit of, a life following the path lived out and described by Jesus. We younger adults are starving for the very community we're wary of.

Although fundamentalist and dogmatic approaches to religion may be more vocal in their reaction to the emerging church, this does not necessarily mean that they are gaining popular momentum.

What a strange thing it is in our culture that clergy, who would otherwise proudly proclaim their independence from the government, regularly act as agents of the state at wedding ceremonies.

With every crisis comes an opportunity for self-examination, for learning, for change and growth, and it is indeed encouraging to see the Pope urging leaders to fully seize the opportunities presented by present problems.

Atheism does not have to be the end of the enchantment; it can be a new door towards a better religion. Religion does not have to be the opium of the people; it can be the poetry of the people.
