If you follow me on social media, you might have seen a recent post about a stand-up comedy show I did at The World Famous Comedy Club. Maybe you thought to yourself: Huh? Why am I tackling stand-up at my age? I'm not sure either, but maybe I'll have an answer by the end of this post. Like everything else, it's complicated.
When I watch my daughter strut around the playground, I think: this is how I want to live: fully and boldly. She believes that everything is an adventure. And isn't it? Why should I view living in this beautiful world as anything other than an adventure? So, I find myself most afternoons whizzing down the tallest slide right behind her.
The other day Stephanie Schriock, President of Emily's List, said running for office is the bravest thing anyone can do, especially when you don't meet the stereotype for being a candidate. Her words got me thinking about how bravery has manifested for me and for those I love. It made me think about how everyday acts of valor and fearlessness can change the world.
