The much shorter story: I hear Hozier on the radio, he's extraordinary. I tell my niece about him. She and her sister go nutty over Hozier. I write about this on HuffPost. Hozier tweets me and invites me backstage when he's town. I ask him if my nieces could go backstage instead. He says yes. They meet Hozier.
I challenge all of us to re-imagine what it means to get older. Let's disrupt aging. Let's upend our thinking around what it means to get older. It's really not about aging. It's about living. To disrupt aging, we need to own our age. We need to get to the point where we're no longer defined by the old expectations of what we should or should not do at a certain age.

Roses, chocolates, heart shaped cards, romantic dinner reservations and of course, the onslaught of commercials insisting that if you really love someone you will buy them diamonds. Whether Valentine's Day was a greeting card induced holiday or not, it can make those of us without a partner sometimes yearn to be part of a couple.
With grey divorce on the rise, many couples over 50 are looking to leave their disappointing marriages and reinvent themselves. The older you are when you divorce, the more variables there are to consider. However, even though it's difficult and there are many challenges, you can't stay in a situation that no longer works for you and one that you know will never work again.
It's no secret that the longer you work, the more likely it is that you'll eventually report to someone who's younger than you are. And as more boomers push off retirement in response to a challenging economy or simply because they prefer to work, the younger boss-older subordinate phenomenon is becoming more common.
This weekend, it was time to get those grey hairs seen to again... to add a bit of gloss and shine and make myself feel better. It's 2012. Almost 2013. I'm older than I could ever imagine being when all my classmates were watching Dallas long ago... and now Dallas is back, and I'm still determined to feel young.
