The 9th annual Fun Fun Fun (FFF) Fest kicks off this Friday, November 7th at Auditorium shores with promises of three days of beautiful skies and a whole slew of music and comedy acts that range from underground to legendary.
Acts like Slayer, Sarah Silverman and Snoop Dogg headlined the event geared towards a niche crowd that's generally passionate about independent music, cross-genre legendary talent and discovering acts before they potentially hit the mainstream circuit.
The Austin Fan Fest is, frankly, puzzling if not downright alarming for Austinites not used to all this flash. In fact, there's a popular city slogan, "Keep Austin Weird," indicivative of the civic pride bound up in being eclectic and eccentric.
In only its sixth year, Fun Fun Fun has emerged as one of the most forward-thinking festivals in the country, combining rock, comedy, metal, hip-hop and more into one easy to digest entertainment experience.
Where most events handle their audience with kid gloves, Fun Fun Fun Fest banks on a more casual, bantering, personal vibe by way of original creative content and a stream of consciousness voice that sounds much more like a human than a marketing strategy.
