I recently went to see the Lincoln Center Theater production of Peter Parnell's comedic drama Dada Woof Papa Hot at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. I can say the play is wonderful, at moments superb--and it has literally the cast and production not just to die for, but to run down to Lincoln Center and see.
While the birth mother was resting with the baby, Andy and his partner took a break from the hospital to get some food. When they returned from eating, they had a flurry of phone messages from the mother, crying and urging them to get back soon. A nurse had been questioning her about her decision to let a gay couple adopt her baby.
Last week a new study reported that children raised by same-sex couples fare even better than those raised in normal biological families. Despite these positive conclusions, the study hurts the gay community by shifting the debate from one of inalienable rights to one of rights based on equal or superior performance.
