From that night forward we decided to not watch as racism took over the planet, but act. That room of LGBTQ activists became a group of anti-hate activists. We stood together. We still stand together, and we will fight together.
Here's what the race baiters on the right fail to comprehend: There's a clear-cut, easy-to-follow blueprint for avoiding the ravages of black-on-black violence and crime. America has yet to provide us a comparable blueprint for avoiding racial profiling.
Breaking windows, spraying graffiti and setting fires to garbage cans isn't original; it hasn't worked in the past and it isn't working now to alleviate our sorrow. Living amidst nightly violence weakens our unity.
