The Huffington Post | Jason Hughes | Posted 12.06.2013 | TV

It was last Christmas on the mid-season finale of "Glee." Thanks to the show taking two seasons to get through one year of school, the ongoing narrati...

I've been known to cry during a "Glee" finale or two (or all of them). This finale was on par with one of the show's typical, mid-season fluff episodes that are usually forgettable.

After a very dramatic school shooting last week, "Glee" gave us a fluff episode this week. Everyone gets what they want, because that's entertaining!

Oh Glee, you had me so excited after your season premiere, but you did it again. You disappointed me with a lackluster second episode.

Glee has never been perfect. In fact, this season, it's been far from it. But just when you count them out, the New Directions have a way of winning you over again. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I'm a gleek again.

The problem with Glee most of the time is that it juggles way too many storylines, often dropping them along the way. And then later, they pick them, tie them with a little bow, and toss them away just as fast.

In Glee's Whitney Houston tribute, Blaine gets 'So Emotional,' Brittany just wants to 'Dance With Somebody, Kurt's questioning his 'Greatest Love of All,' and Mr. Schue is just plain crazy.

Sure, at times it felt like a Lifetime movie adaptation of Mamma Mia! but "Saturday Night Glee-ver" was one of the best Glee episodes of the season.

"Glee" is back, and it's crazier than ever. Quinn's in a wheelchair, Rachel and Finn are still planning to get married (if they don't kill each other first), and Sue's having a baby. But thankfully, Matt Bomer was the most perfect guest star ever.

'Glee' Recap: Rachel's Wedding Leads To Shock Ending

For an episode that was supposed to be all about Regionals, Glee flipped a switch on its audience and instead, turned out an episode that I don't think anyone saw coming. Suicide attempt? Check. A potentially deadly car accident? Check. Regionals win? Who cares!

'Glee' Recap: Mr. Schue Is 'Livin' La Vida Loca' With Ricky Martin

Considering that I knew beforehand that "The Spanish Teacher" would be very Will-centric, I wasn't too excited for this episode. Although, I must admit that Ricky Martin's bon-bon shaking was a huge incentive for tuning in.

'Glee' Celebrates An 'Extraordinary Merry Christmas'

After last season's wacky "A Very Glee Christmas," I've learned not to expect much from a "Glee" Christmas episode, aside from the usual fluffy sing-a-long songs and Yuletide cheer. Basically, there's no continuity to the overall plot, so it's kind of like a "Get Out of Jail Free" card for Ryan Murphy.
