Badass parents have an unusual ability to identify their needs and then find a way to meet them -- without whining or playing the victim card. They take responsibility for their choices -- to work (or not), to cook (or not), to take a vacation or stay at home and even their choice to have children.
No parent is perfect, but perfection has never been the standard. Good parents are actively and positively engaged with their children and give them unconditional love, not unconditional amounts of money. Good parents teach their kids about respect for self and for others.
One day, you wake up and realize that what you thought was good parenting was actually helicopter parenting, and as your rotors spin faster and faster, your kids are just pulling further and further away.
