The sustainability perspective integrates economic growth, environmental protection and public health. I am confident that New York City's mayor and New York State's governor understand this. However, I see little evidence that they have integrated this way of thinking into their approach to politics, policy and governance.
I know politics is all about compromise. I know we sometimes have to settle for not getting everything we want in a candidate. But there are some things I refuse to accept in a potential leader. Pandering to the right to support Open Carry Laws fits in that category. I'm sitting out this Texas gubernatorial election.
The right has portrayed Davis as an ambitious shrew who left her first child with a non-biological father to run off to Harvard, used him to pay for most of her education, and then dumped him the day her law degree was paid in full. This is nowhere near accurate. Regardless, how could they not see this coming down Congress Avenue?
