What used to be a beautiful field filled with grass and, I'm assuming, Julie Andrews singing to the Swiss Alps, was now a lake of mud. People in ponchos (clear, so you can still see their festival fashion!) were knee-deep in liquid field.
Sitting on my table are two spectacular bottles of wine, which I had received after a special lunch with winemaker Alison Crary. I had been curious about the wine being served at the exclusive Governor's Ball after the Oscar ceremony... and she had all the answers.
I've generally believed that when large groups of people get together to hear music, some level of chaos is inevitable -- the light rail line at All Points West comes to mind -- but the organizers behind Governors Ball proved me wrong this weekend.
