Instead of worrying about all I was doing wrong, all the ways I was coming up short, I pushed myself to identify the positive qualities and efforts that I was putting forth each day. This felt a bit awkward and uncomfortable at first but after only a short while, the practice began to transform the way I viewed myself and my being in the world.
Forgiving yourself is another way of giving yourself permission to get out of your own way. To see the truth for what it is, rather than hide behind it. If we take self-forgiveness moments, it changes our perspective, and therefore our approach to life. Our mood lifts, and we return to feeling happy and having that inner calm again.
