Detroit was once hailed as the hub of funk and home of the famous Motown Records. It was where the auto industry changed the world and where Marshall Mathers changed hip hop. Over recent years, however, the great city of Detroit has fallen but in the wake of its recession has come its rebirth.
Celebrating its 10-year reunion on September 17th-20th at the Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale, California is Symbiosis Gathering. A fan favorite of many individuals in the festival community, Symbiosis returns after a one-year hiatus in 2014 to present their most epic gathering yet.
The young upstart blends a futuristic electronic sounds reminiscent of dubstep/bass music but shakes it up with a heavy dose of classical funk, soul, and jazz. His sound, which he would describe as "electro-soul" if a genre needs attached to it.
