Memories. So many memories. Let's start an altogether fresh list of new people in our lives, shall we? Before long, perhaps we can turn them into an altogether new list of memories too.
In 1948 homosexuals were considered sick and/or degenerate heterosexuals, and a gay community as we now know it did not yet exist. That year one man had the visionary idea that homosexuals were a "cultural minority" and could organize themselves.
"Harry brandished the sword of the left brain so that the right brain could flourish on fertile ground. He lived both in the world of the intellect and in the world of the heart."
We all stand on the shoulders of earlier generations of radicals and reformers who challenged the status quo of their day. Unfortunately, most Americans know little of this progressive history.
