While I loved the film, I also felt sympathetic to people who are hurt and offended by what feels like an attack on their faith. I support anyone who wants to screen the film, but this is a game-changer.

One of the thousand names given to the Hindu God Vishnu is "he whose treasure is the Goddess of Fortune." Hence the recent discovery in a Vishnu temple of a treasure worth more than $22 billion.

In Hinduism, polytheism and monotheism coexist in a relationship much like the parts of a wheel. The many deities are like the spokes, emanating from the hub and each playing an important role.

Hindu myths have survived much over the centuries. In the present day, mythology may not seem overtly in danger of extinction, but it will have to be thought through carefully to remain as vibrant and vital as it has been.

My aim isn't to butcher the Ramayana but simply to share it with people in a casual and entertaining way. If I've done my job right, Ramayana: Divine Loophole serves as an intro to a much fuller version of the story.
