In other words, global warming is injecting steroids into weather disasters. Without countermeasures, it will get much worse. Yet the response among deniers in Congress is to escalate their campaign to sabotage any government effort to reduce the pollution responsible for climate change.
Sen. Jim Inhofe opened an Environment and Public Works Committee hearing today with a chart that paints 32 states (in green no less!) as though they have lined up solidly in opposition to EPA's Clean Power Plan.
In short, the global warming deniers are as wrong as the smoke-blowers who said in the 1960s that a pack a day was fine. No one seriously argues today that tobacco isn't bad for you -- and if they did, no one would listen.
Oklahoma, the home base of Republican Senator James Inhofe, Congress' most outspoken denier of global warming, is in the throes of the worst drought in decades. Where does that leave Inhofe, who unabashedly calls global warming a gigantic "hoax"?
