This took me back to my childhood. I clung to any media representation of other gay and lesbian people when I was coming to terms with my own sexuality. The one song that soothed my churning soul was "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Some people believe that hindsight is 20/20. I think it's warped by sentimentality, wishful thinking, and rose-colored glasses. Whether one listens to Betty Buckley singing "Memory" from Cats, or Barbra Streisand's version of the title song from 1973's The Way We Were, memory tends to play tricks on clarity.
