For the last four years I have been fortunate to have Kate Clinton, our favorite lesbian political humorist, participate in my LGBT year-end review and chat about what the new year will bring our LGBT community. This year I talked to Kate about the events of 2012 and her spin on LGBT issues.
When one male comic makes an over-the-line sexist, racist or homophobic joke, all the other male comics, their male producers and their male audiences laugh and defend him. They ignore the hostile climate that their "humor" creates.
I am so grateful for each one of these women. Some of these women do work that reaches around the world and others stay in their own backyards and neighborhoods. All of them live their amazing lesbian lives out loud.
