Former U.S. Senator Bob Torricelli recently gave a nod to William Shakespeare when he paraphrased his "Friends, Romans, Countrymen" speech from Julius Caesar: "We've come not to bury Bernie Sanders, but to praise him."
It's time to put this debate back on course and recognize that hate-filled rhetoric hurts nobody but us. It does nothing but weaken our position as an international example in the fight to defend the rights of all people.
McCain's temperament -- leading him to bizarre behavior during the week the economic crisis broke -- and his judgment -- leading him to Wasilla -- depressed me into thinking that he'd be a(nother) lousy conservative president. Been there, done that.
