Senate Democrats pulled the plug on climate legislation Thursday, but it's not the end of the world. In fact, the demise of cap-and-trade might be the best thing that could happen for the Earth's climate.

It's been said it will take a Pearl Harbor-type event for America to get serious about addressing climate change. Well, the bombs are falling, but Congress hasn't declared war on carbon-dioxide.

Any legislation to address climate change needs to have the overarching goal of getting us back to 350 ppm of CO2 and keeping us there. But you'll find no mention of this in Kerry-Lieberman.
