It's T-minus three days until V-Day, and because we're already a little burnt out on the red-and-pink of it all, we've decided to shower the real objects of our affection (that's you, BGG readers!) with some not-at-all-cutesy goodness.
Los Angeles is a town where people work hard and play hard. But some places play really hard. Grab your drunk helmet (we just invented that) and enlist your designated driver, because here are five bars in L.A. where sobriety goes to die.
Living in Los Angeles, the bar scene is saturated with overpriced, watered-down drinks and unwelcoming servers. I found one bar, however, that has changed my opinion of Los Angeles nightlife: Drai's Hollywood.
"I was recently sitting in one of the rooms talking with George Clinton, of the Parliament-Funkadelic. And just a couple of weeks ago I was having a brief chat with Tom Waits, and sitting next to him was Johnny Depp. We frequently get celebrities in the club."
L.A. nightlife is nothing if not fickle. A new venue is lucky to have a shelf life of six months. Palihouse opened ages ago back in 2008. See, a good club fades, but a good bar rarely does -- if it is done right.
Picking a locale to handle the honor of your day of birth party is a weighty decision. Like the saying in real estate, it came to mind that I should make my decision based on location, location, location.
