We face so many transitions in midlife and our children leaving the nest is one of them. It's bittersweet. We're excited for them as they embark on this next stage, I remember my excitement leaving home. We also dread the silence, the emptiness, yes, even the dirty washing.
You see, in our home Maya is a grandmother. And today that is what my soul feels it has lost. Mother Maya taught me that no matter my scars, I matter. More than that, I have a story(ies) to tell, which I am meant to tell. As one of my life teachers she taught me much about the subject.
Your kindness, generosity, patience, willingness to love and to forgive, your powerful brain, uproarious sense of humor, sharp and quick wit, and your overall awesomeness is an example I myself try to live up to every day.
