Eddie Redmayne stars as Stephen Hawking, from his days as a Cambridge grad student in physics to his breakthrough years as a faculty physicist. It also deals with his marriage to Jane (Felicity Jones), who weds him even though he's been given a death-sentence diagnosis of ALS.
This Turkey Day happens to land on a criminally and perennially underappreciated actor's birthday: Ed Harris. Main course or side dish, first billing or second fiddle, Ed Harris is a truly gifted actor deserving of more recognition. So let's give it to him.
Sunday, September 9th was National Grandparents Day and September is National Grandparents Month. I thought everybody should know because like many I tend to get involved in the struggles of everyday life and forget those that are most important to me.
Nominated for the Oscar as best animated feature (which went to the visually brilliant but drastically unfunny Rango), A Cat in Paris is a slight but entertaining tale, most noteworthy for going old-school, with hand-drawn animation.
Don't go to see it if you are looking for a movie about education, because it's not that. It's a movie you go to and then when you go home, you'll think about people in a different way, a deeper way -- maybe a better way.
