Edward and Margarita think that the kitchen will "fit" better if the cabinets stand out. In my opinion, the kitchen should be neutral, become a backdrop. In order to blend-in with the elegant room that encompasses both cooking, gathering and entertaining, I would opt for a solution that is subtle, even understated. In this particular situation, it would be ideal if kitchen cabinets looked like furniture.
