In Washington today, we are witnessing people who can't unlearn the old strategies of Democrats and Republicans and Tea Parties. That is why we need to commit ourselves to sending 468 fresh Americans to Washington in November of 2014. Wait, do we really have to wait until 2014?

A good deal of attention was given yesterday to Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) fake-filibuster. Lost in all the zany hoopla, however, was a point I found utterly remarkable, yet wasn't addressed by any reporters that I heard.
We need more outrage about these other Red Lines, the ones hurting our country. Where are the American people? Where is the outrage? We can do better. We are the United States of America -- we must do better.

It has become conventional thinking that bipartisanship is moribund in American politics. Recent elections of Tea Party Republicans have cemented this mindset. Ironically, the increasing partisan polarity may actually have the unintended result of effectuating a new bipartisanship.
