Whoo hoo, fall is here! Actually, fall really isn't here ... I live in Texas and we're still wearing shorts and opening our windows. It's really funny to watch the climatized Texas bundle up when the temps hit the low 80s, though. We're out of the 90s, so bring on the winter wear, baby!

It doesn't matter what gender you are. Movember can be a great way to finally allow yourselves or your loved ones to open up and share any health concerns you may have, be they mental, physical, or preventative.
Each of us avoids shaving for 1 to 30 days this month and makes a contribution equal to (or lots higher than) we would have spent on haircuts during that time. And we can also encourage friends who comment on our extra hair that they too should make a contribution.
Getting men at any age to believe that expressing themselves is a sign of strength is vital. It takes much more effort to be honest, forthcoming and do the work to address the mental health challenges in our lives than it does to avoid them.
Just last week, I completed my 21st cycle of chemotherapy, my sixth since starting back up in the fall. So, this November, alongside my male friends, I'll be doing my best to grow back my 5 o'clock shadow, and of course some hair on my head!
