I'm not in any way opposed to using a gun or anything else for genuine, self-defense. But I am opposed to the shameless pandering of the NRA and other gun promoters to the childish fantasy that if you walk around with a gun, that you're protecting yourself or others from harm.
No one should feel safe in the following states. These are states with the most Wild West gun laws where you are most likely to encounter someone -- anyone -- with a gun. And it is time to take a stand and do something about it.
Maybe I've got it all mixed up, but I haven't seen any interviews with guys in prison who pulled out a gun and shot someone because it was the "only" way they could settle an argument on favorable terms.
