When a child is born, parents think they are getting a gift. Little do they know that they'll inevitably lose us at some point, in one way or another. Some parents end up estranged from their children. But for parents of daughters, that little girl they cradled in their arms eventually leaves home.
For never having lived away from home, my boyfriend and I are doing quite well. We cook our own dinner, shop for groceries, pay our bills, both have full-time jobs and can still go out and have fun from time-to-time.
Moving out from your parent's house sounds like a lot of freedom (oh, trust me... it is!), but with that comes a lot of "responsibility." While that word may sound soul-crushing at first, it's a gigantic new chapter in your life.
