Be it the voice of Iranian Americans, the freedom of academics, or the decision of diplomats, neoconservatives will attempt to set fire to any bridge that attempts to mend the people of Iran and America. American academia is only the latest victim of this wicked witch hunt.
It shouldn't even need to be said that Obama's approach hardly qualifies as "appeasement" of Iran, unless you're someone for whom any strategy that doesn't involve huge numbers of people being blown up equals "appeasement."
While it certainly is a new refrain for him, John Bolton's recent speech does not represent a shift in the neoconservative chorus on Iran. It is just the same old song, albeit with some different lyrics.
Who knew? Forget about the War On Terrorism. Now it's all about the CIA "war" on the Bush administration. If we don't have the Iranian Mullahs to kick around anymore, let's blame it all on the Boys from Langley.
