During the time between Christmas and New Year's, even the strongest among us want to get out of the city and run for the hills. I do not blame you, my comrades, but for those of you who can't manage that, not all hope is lost.
People really do help out -- certainly in a small community environment, which the West Village is within the larger city. Or maybe emergencies bring out the best in people. Or maybe New Yorkers have hearts of gold.
Just about everyone will tell you it takes X amount of time to truly become a New Yorker. There are a few sayings or occurrences I have found draw each and everyone of us closer to becoming the true New Yorker we are really meant to be.
