Noel Gallagher has sold over 70 million records worldwide, witnessed his choruses become chanted by fans as if they were a gospel choir, and might be the only British rock star to appear on more magazine covers than Kate Middleton.
"No Ghosts Yet" is the first single off the band's self-titled debut EP, and along with it they have released a rather "glowing" (did I say that?) video, with an even more interesting behind-the-scenes story.
Here in the USA, we're all used to the downfall of sleazy, ethics-free politicians. But they have all met their match in terms of plumbing the depths of human sludge compared to the loathsome British politician who has just been sentenced to jail for "perverting the course of justice."
Noel is glad the boon hit "when you could still make money selling records -- before the Internet," but doesn't mind re-entering the months-long tours inherent to a rocker's life (and wallet). "You've got to earn a living, haven't you?"
As a music critic, perhaps a bit more creative effort would be appreciated. However, as a Noel Gallagher fan, I really couldn't care less that he didn't decide to make a jazz album or at least something even slightly more daring.
