As a recent college graduate, I had the rare opportunity to share my love for one of our nation's most cherished sites. I worked with and helped visitors from the community and around the world. I found my first park, but the National Mall was hardly my last.
Veterans Day is an important time to look for ways we can support these brave men and women in our own communities. It's an opportunity for all of us to remember the sacrifices our fellow citizens have made on our behalf, and to shine a bright light on their needs.

So the boyfriend and I are on our way to the Everglades to bike the Everglades' Shark Valley Loop Trail. I love the outdoors, I love exercising: this was perfect. And then I realized I was going to be biking 15.4 miles. With alligators.
I encourage everyone, no matter what part of these United States you live in (or even if you live elsewhere), to take a "trip out West" at some point in your life. Get in a car, and go explore everything west of Denver.
