The Hawaii State Senate recently introduced a bill that would prohibit the sale of sugar-sweetened drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces anywhere in the state.

Obesity and diabetes are major public health problems in the city of New York as well as in other parts of the U.S., and limiting the sizes of sugar-sweetened drinks is certainly worth trying.
I'm hopeful that the New York City Board of Health will approve the measure to bring portion sizes back to normal, and set a healthy example for the rest of the nation.
