For about three weeks after having hip replacement surgery in 2010, I felt I was doomed to a life as an Old Man. For the first time in 60 years, I briefly stopped feeling like a kid and looked at the face of aging.
If the fellas had been human infants, no one would have offered me one, much less suggest that I take two. And the guys did not come with warning labels. And my memory isn't necessarily what it used to be. So, it has come to pass that I now have a six-month-old and a five-month-old terrifying/terrorizing whirlwind of energy in my apartment.
Since women over 60 care deeply about keeping their brains healthy as they age, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and explore the six decades that have shaped women who are just now reaching retirement. As you read, I encourage you to take a pause after each section and try to visualize what your life was like. What are your strongest memories of each time period?
