You may think you're being useful by saying certain common phrases that seem helpful, but they're not. I've created a list of things people have said to me during a panic attack. Word of advice: Don't say these things. But lucky for you, I'm also including some helpful ways to make the situation less awkward for everyone.
It's like one by one, each and every stimulus around you takes over your mind and body. One by one, a sound or a feeling or a visual will become so engulfing that that one stimulus becomes your entire reality. That one thing becomes every thought that goes through your mind and every physical and emotional feeling you have.
Words have meaning and intent, and denial of this fact is ignorant. I believe that in the great cage match of life, enlightenment destroys ignorance, and enlightenment is my truth, my whole truth, and nothing but my truth, in whatever way I choose to illuminate the darkness of my own tightly-locked closet.
