Now, here's the sticky wicket for many of us: Do you tell the kid's parents that their beloved has behaved poorly post-play-date?
Cell phones are undermining centuries of date etiquette. The doorbell is becoming extinct, and with it the one opportunity you have to look the kid (friend, date) in the eye, assess his demeanor (i.e., sobriety) and make sure he knows I'm watching.
Now that I'm a parent, I'm turning against my own kind and am starting a my own revolution. My cause: Resurrecting the use of formal titles.
