Philosophy of Life

There is a vast difference between "just being" as part of a life proudly lived and "just being" as a complete philosophy of life. As the former, it makes perfect sense. As the latter, it is bankrupt.

"Kayak." It was more than just a word. It was a message from my father to me: "Know what you're getting into." Know what you're getting into, when you get into a boat on the water, or into a marriage, or into a house or a job...

Is that screen and keyboard often in your hand the greatest personal and professional tool ever, or is it the devil's device, insidiously sucking the time out of your life and the life out of your soul?

You don't have to become a French Existentialist or even a country music songwriter in order to cultivate thoughts about some of the most important issues of our existence.
