A couple of years ago, feeling sentimental and having just finished the seventh decade of my life, I suddenly realized that, at age 70, days pass like minutes, the years go by like days.
According to the 2000 Census, 2.4 million grandparents are raising their grandchildren in their homes without the children's parents present. Every one of those 2.4 million is a hero to me.
