With Facebook reaction buttons Zuckerberg is responding to years of feedback from Facebook users who felt odd about "liking" posts that, perhaps, had bad news, like someone's dog dying, or posts about things that made them angry.
We all, naturally and overwhelmingly, develop prejudice, fears and reluctances of the unknown. And so, this same reluctance might make it so we miss people along the way. People who could have integrated into our lives in a very meaningful way.
I'm not saying forget about whatever it is that is bothering you. Those chapters in our lives shape us. What you can do though, is come at peace with these times. Accept them. Honor them. And move forward.
Can I do this? Can you teach the proverbial old dog new tricks? I have no idea. But I figure if 13 years ago, I could stop doing something I couldn't seem to go a day or even a few hours without, anything's possible.
